This summer I had the opportunity, honor, freaking pleasure to see U2 in London at Wembley Stadium. It was truly a monumental night in my life, seriously. Lets get right into it (the music and the technology).

Me and my brother journeyed to the stadium via the tube and waited outside for  A LONG TIME. We finally got to the floor and staked out a place to the left of the stage

After hours of waiting and two very promising opening bands (The Hours and Elbow) the show started.  They played most of my favorites:

  • Elevation
  • Sunday Bloody Sunday
  • I Still Haven’t Found…
  • Vertigo
  • Mysterious Ways
  • Beautiful Day

And songs from their latest Album “No Line on the Horizon”

Like my personal favorite:

  • I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight

What really caught my eye was how cinematic the video on the cylinder shaped screen that could be seen from any seat in the stadium.

To the surprise of everybody the screen spread apart. It was like what I imagine a PG version of an acid trip would look like:

Bono even had a jacket MADE OUT OF LASERS. Let me say that again LASERS!

The true highlight was when Bono and The Edge met on the moving bridge to the second outlining stage and I snapped this picture:

To conclude the music was amazing I have been a fan of U2 for a long time they have so much passion for what they do and it is a testament to them how long they have stayed together and still make great music that spans generations and cultures.

So do you guys prefer: BIG and showy use of tech or a small show with more focus on the music or can you do both?

MMS a.k.a. Multimedia Media Services a.k.a. Picture messaging was released for the iPhone Sept 25th in the “late morning”and on this date the iPhone got a feature that became popular 6 years ago. That’s 2003 for our math challenged friends (we still love you)

l

We all feel like AT&T could have handled the situation better but I’m not here to complain… even though I could.

Anyways…

With the lack of picture messaging capabilities since I left Verizon for the iPhone 1 & 1/2 years ago, I learned to adapt and post pictures on twitter and facebook when I wanted to share a funny picture or brag share about my travels.

So my question is:

In this era of social networking, do you even care that you can send photos to specific people or are they too busy checking your twitpic on twitter?
